Our History

Beginnings: Sandhills Emergency Physicians started as a 5-member physician group in 1991. It provided coverage to Moore Regional Hospital, a well-recognized specialty hospital.

Current: The group has expanded to 32 physicians and 9 PAs.  SEP provides coverage at 4 hospitals MRH-Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, RMH-Richmond Memorial in Rockingham, MMH-Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Troy, and HCH-Hoke County Hospital in Raeford.  FirstHealth of the Carolinas is the corporate umbrella that unifies these facilities into a regional healthcare system.

Sandhills Emergency Physicians is an independent and democratic group of emergency medicine specialists whose members are all board certified or eligible (through residency training in emergency medicine or EM experience) by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine.

Mission Statement

We aspire to be highly effective practitioners of emergency medicine and advocate principles of equity. Our goal is to personally provide excellence in emergency medical care to all of our patients with due regard to the needs of their families and society, their personal physicians and each other, as members of a highly qualified and skilled team of emergency medicine specialists.

 

Sandhills Emergency Physicians, P.A. is working together with FirstHealth of the Carolinas to address every

emergency need.  We remain committed to providing quality patient care at each of our 4 present facilities.
